2muchsnow on the island - trip report day 1?

Post by 2muchsnow »

We have finally arrived. After our 12:55 am flight from SLC was delayed (ironically) by 2muchsnow and extra deicing time. all the rest off the plans fell into place, meeting the sandycracks in Atlanta. Ended up on the 2:00 ferry, after barely missing the 1:00. But not from a valiant attempt by our taxi driver. (2 wheel corners and all) Rental car is a brand new jeep, villa is great. Amazing Views high on gifft hill. no plans for tomorrow. But I'm sure a beach Is involved. more to come. A Few random Photos may be appearing on a photoblog l slapped together using my phone.

Full report will come later, once I'm back and edit photos
Listening to the coqui, time to call it, been a long day.

We were on the 2pm ferry also after a similar ride from the airport:)

Had a chance encounter with part of the SOTB girls at Starfish.

After a long day yesterday, we're moving quite slowly today.

The winner for the first day was ..... Maho, which for some strange reason we've never spent anytime there. Was awesome, after the weather on the arrival day being so sketchy, was surprised how perfect the weather today was. For the wildlife bingo card:. Pelicans and tarpons, rays, even an appearance by a manta ray. 3 passes up and down the beach in and out of the swimmers. 5 feet across, water clarity wasn't very great. But you could see it with polarized sunglasses. And get within a few feet of it. Not scared of people.

Tomorrow.... Reef bay hike.
