The dining reviews under ST John tab have been very slim this year. I would love to read any reviews anyone has experienced this year. I enjoy trying new places and always like hearing what everyone likes or can't wait to get back and try again.

We are in St. John every year for two weeks and eat out about half the time. Here are my picks:
La Tapa - wonderful food - go on Monday Jazz night and listen to the combo!
Ocean Grill - New to us this year but we went twice. Best red snapper I've ever had. Really pretty place. Great staff and owner.
Equator at Caneel Bay - very expensive but the service and the view are to die for
Lime Inn - we go every year by tradition but now that it's for sale don't know how it will be.
Asolare - Interesting food, great views - request a seat on the rail
ZoZo's - To die for sunsets, excellent food. Reserve to eat upstairs at the bar.

I never even think to write a restaurant review but when we were there a couple of weeks ago a lot of our regular favorite were closed like Zozo's, Ocean Grille and Rhumblines but we still managed to eat out every night.
We really loved Gastrogrub upstairs at the Marketplace. My husband had a pork chop and said it was unbelievable. I loved my meal there too! The mac and cheese was yummo! We also went to La Plancha del Mar twice once for my birthday where they gave me a glass of champange and brought over a candle. It was really nice and the food was delicious both times we went. The drinks are so delicious too and very different. I got a lemongrass and gin something or other and the straw was made out of lemongrass. The sangria is AWESOME!! We also ate at Morgan's Mango which was great. Another favorite of ours is High Tide Restaurant I know the menu changed but the Jerk Chicken Dinner was delicious and the portions are huge. Aquabistro was closed but MJ was cooking and the onion rings were great! (Thanks PIA) He was also serving up Dino Ribs- we didn't get them but everyone was raving about them!

We had dinner this past Sunday night at AquaBistro and it was awesome. Wish I had pictures. Grandson had the ribeye, Son had the parmesean crusted grouper, Daughter-in-law had the pasta special with shrimp, lobster and scallops and I had the pan seared scallops. Of course we all split everything up so we had some of everything and it was to dream about. Very delicious.
