Poll on facebook for 14 year old son?
I have a 14 year old in 9th grade. He has a fb page. FWIW, those same stupid things kids are saying on fb are the same stupid things they are saying at school and Jr. High Schoolers are the WORST...I know this cause he comes home and tells me "you are not going to believe what so and so did!" or "guess what happened at school today?" or "can you believe he said that?" You can't protect them from everything now matter how hard you try or want to. I've never had an issue with my son's fb page. He has a private page with many friends including all the family. His private info is not made available. He hardly ever gets on there anymore...the novelty wore off quick. Sometimes I have to tell him to check his page LOL! I raised him to be a kind, respectful, and good person...the best way I knew how. I trust that he makes good decisions and so far I can only see that he has. Of course this is a personal, parental decision and you have to do what you feel is best. Good luck.Hawaii wrote:It is not that we do not trust him just some of the stupid things kids say on facebook.
Well, you have to think. If you were in his shoes, would you want something which you are going to be monitored for or would you choose to do something else which you are autonomous for. It differs with teens really.
Some would appeal to being subjected to anything as long as they get to do what they want. But there are others who would prefer to do thing by themselves rather than be in close guard.
