ferry from STT to STX?

Post by searchin4beach »

Is there a ferry that runs from St. Thomas to St. Croix or that that too far?

The ferry is not currently running. When it IS running it is about 90 minutes of rock and roll known as the "Barf Barge" and the "Vomit Comet". Most comfortable / easiest / fastest way is the seaplane or air shuttle via Seaborne Airlines.

We took the ferry from St.Thomas to St.Croix and had a very enjoyable, calm ride both ways.

Hijacking a little here- we will be coming to STJ from STX in February. Thought about the ferry at first, but according to the schedule it does not run on Thursdays (the day we need to arrive on STJ) and obviously is not running at ALL now ;-) So now we are looking at regular air or seaplane. Anyone have any experience with the seaplane? Though that would be a fun adventure- but I am a little nervous! Pia? Any advice?

I love the seaplane, nothing to be worried about at all. It is really fun actually! I believe that they have luggage weight rules, so be sure to check into that if you have a lot.

Thanks guys! I think we may go for it. I have read about the luggage weight rules and will plan to ship a lot of stuff to Connections so we can make it. Now if we can just be brave enough. As my good friend (who is going with us) says- "that sounds like a really cool thing to do- AFTER you have landed" ;-)
