Day 6: Bye bye Grande Bay~Hello Caneel Bay!! :D

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay at Grande Bay and loved being able to walk all over Cruz Bay.

But this trip was full of *firsts* and something I've always wanted to do is stay at *Caneel Bay~ 8)* After checking the 5 star pricing, it looked like 1 night at Caneel would have to do. So, the Grande Bay van took us over to the taxi stand and we were on our way~~~~~~~

We kinda got there super early but happily hung out on *Caneel Bay Beach* until our room was ready at noon.

I love this blurry shot of the cruise ship group looking down at us because I remember standing up there just like them 10 years ago and couldn't believe my eyes . . . breathtaking beauty~

Image

Our room was ready and a golf cart took us up the hill to the garden view suites that looked over the pool and tennis courts. It was also close to the bus stop that can take you all over the property.

We settled in, grabbed our snorkel gear and took the bus to check out the property. So beautiful and much, much bigger than I imagined!
Our first stop was *Scott Beach.* WOW

We snorkeled straight out and to the right and the underwater aquarium was quite impressive! Big elk horn coral too! In the back of my mind I wanted to check out other beaches but there was some kind of magnetic, mesmerizing beach shield that kept us there to soak up all the beauty. It was late in the day when we finally pulled ourselves away only because we didn't have lunch and were downright hungry! We caught the bus back, cleaned up and headed to the Caneel Beach Grill for the sunset and dinner.

Delicious dish in paradise!

We returned to our room relaxed and ready to do it all again tomorrow on our last full day! :D
I've got 2 tickets to paradise~Pack your bags we'll leave tonight!

Jen, will you be going back to Caneel again? Since we ended our trip with a 4 night stay at Caneel 2 years ago we want to do it every trip. It's the perfect way to spend your last few days on the island.

Wow, I love the stonework and arched doors in the garden rooms. I have never stayed up there before.

Love, love, love Caneel Bay! :D

Scott Beach looks AMAZING!! As do those rooms. WOW! Is Caneel ever "reasonably" priced? Were there a ton of people there?

*Scott Beach.* WOW

I know. We stayed on Scott Beach for our honeymoon and it spoiled me forever. It was my first real snorkelling experience and not knowing any better, I assumed all Caribbean beaches had awesome snorkelling steps from the sand!

What a beautiful day and evening you two had together at Caneel. I love the photos of the two of you framed in the windows and doors of the ruins. Very nice! :)

In pic 13..I think you are at Scott Beach? What are the buildings right behind the beach chairs?
I have never thought about staying just a night, etc..Always looked at week prices and being very pricey..but one night is a great idea!! I'm gonna have to do that... :D
