Day 3: Hawksnest & Beach Bar Forum Gathering!

Woke up to another beautiful day in Cruz Bay~

I strolled over to *Cafe Livin'* for some breakfast sandwiches and stopped by Bay Side Mini Mart for liquid refreshments for our beach day with our new island buddies Coral and Denny!!

On the way back to Grande Bay I started to hear music. CHURCH MUSIC!!

I totally forgot it was Sunday and felt really, really guilty walking past the cute Lutheran Church with the devil's juice in my hands!!

Oh Lord, forgive me for the fun I was about to receive at the beach! And thank you Lord for creating beautiful St. John for us to enjoy!

By 10 a.m. we were packed and ready to go and made it over to Hawksnest in a jiffy. We found a perfect little cove to set up camp and had a wonderful day visiting, snorkeling and enjoying our yummy sandwiches from Sam & Jacks.

We heard some cool reggae music over at Gibney Beach and snorkeled over to check it out! Looked like the locals were having a fun beach day too!
Back to GB for showers and the *Beach Bar Forum gathering* at 5 p.m.

and for a brief moment we were all able to gather in front of the webcam to say a quick hello! And look who popped in at the last moment . . . Betty (right behind me) and her hubby who took this pic! After a hazy cool sunset I realized "I need to eat something!" We walked over to *Rhumblines* and it was packed! We grabbed the last table and enjoyed the cool atmosphere and chillin' band and a de-lish dinner~

We packed up plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow and strolled back down the beach to GB as the 10 p.m. ferry was pulling into Cruz Bay. What a wonderful day and lovely evening in paradise!

It was very nice to meet you! Sorry we could not stay for longer. Rhumblines looks great, we didn't get there (or to many of my other favorites) this trip.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! We were at Gibney that day with the reggae music!!! We started out by Oppenheimer's house (we were the FIRST people on the beach), but when the reggae group came and set up, we mosied down to the other end to enjoy the sounds from afar. That's the day where I got sunburned beyond recognition!

My husband and I floated on a pink float on the Hawsksnest end ALL DAY....and that's what did me in. (Did y'all "see" us?) So no BB gathering for us this year. There's always next year!

Thanks, Colleen. That has to be the most perfect day I've seen described on STJ. Deli-lunch, beach, music, chillin in the sand, VIOL-Beach bar party, and finally yummy food! Reading your posts makes it difficult to work today. Thanks for the reports. See ya, soon.

Thanks for all the nice comments! We really had a great time this year and it's really hard to get back to everyday life after all the fun in the Caribbean sun! I hope everyone that's there now will get to see the sun and have lots of fun before their trip is over!

Sorry we missed you ColumbiaSCTraveler! I'm sure you were right there on your pink floaty as we were snorkeling right there! My hubby got really burned that day too and you will notice in my day 4 trip report that he did not get out that day! Just rested and relaxed at Grande Bay!

Hope we can do it all again next year!!
