fishing charter?

Post by PA Girl »

One thing we never did while vacationing on STJ is fishing. The guys often talk about going out on a charter boat but no one ever investigated the options.

Anyone have info. on fishing charters? It would be 3 guys, maybe 4 if Little PA goes along.

The one boat's site I quickly looked at stated that any fish caught belongs to the captain. Is that typical? The guys in my group would want me to cook their catch for dinner.[/quote]

My husband went out with Bite Me Charters. He was guest of someone else so I don't know the cost, but he said the Capt. was great and they all had a great time:

My husband remembers one guy catching a Mahi-Mahi and he only wanted a piece of it for dinner that night. The Capt. fileted him a piece and then he kept the rest.

Yes that is typical although most boats allow you to keep 20 lbs (only one boat allows you to keep 10 lbs) which the captain will fillet or steak for you.

Send me a PM if you would like my help booking.

A while back my husband and a friend went out with Mixed Bag. They caught a shark!! That was accidental and they let it go. I know they caught some marlin and released as well. Think they caught a bunch more but the captain kept it since we were at the Westin that trip. They had fun, except for my hubby "feeding the fishes" for most of the day- not sure he's the deep sea type.    But he still said it was a great charter.

20 pounds would be more than enough, probably too much!

We went out with World Class Angler back in January. I think the captain was Chris. He was awsome. We had a great dinner of tuna on the grill that night.
