Day 6-Trip Report
Day 6-Trip Report
So sorry everyone the trip report is taking longer then I wanted but better late then never. Anyway, today we headed to Salt Pond Bay. My main reason was so that we could stop at the Tourist Trap after we were done. Off we go on another beautiful day. As we were heading down the hill I was getting some looks from my husband and daughter. Then I heard someone say "who picked this beach" as they knew the walk back up would be harder. When we arrived on the beach there were maybe 8 other people which I was a bit surprised but we put all of our stuff down under a tree and got in the water.
The water here was so gorgeous. The sun was shining and it made for very clear snorkeling. The snorkeling here for us was excellent of course we are all first timers so anything we see is exciting to us. We saw many variety of fish and swam out all along the rocks and then headed over to the other side furthest from the trail which was good but not as great as the side to where we entered from the trail (hike).
We then took a break and just looked at the beauty for awhile. I could have stayed on this beach all day. After a bit my son and I went out again a little further out and again we saw some really cool fish. We then had a big cloud over us and it started pouring so in the water we went and continued snorkeling. I have to laugh at the people who run for the trees - you are in the water and already wet so what is the point
After a couple more snorkels we decided it was time to head to the Tourist Trap. Of course, I had to order the famous Keep Left drink but have to admit it was not my most favorite, yes I liked it but had other favorites.
We had a really nice waitress who yelled at me for cleaning up my trash
Our son had the Lobster Roll which I assume was very good since we were not even given a bite. Both my husband and I had the tacos and daughter had the nachos which were excellent. It was a great day. The only complaint was the walk back up from Salt Pond. My husband is an electrical contractor but he does most of the bidding, paperwork, etc so he is not in great shape for hikes. He was also having some problems with dizzyness due to his blood pressure being low but my son and I were carrying everything and boy we must be in good shape because it did not bother me at all - maybe because I knew we were heading to Tourist Trap. Glad I did not take them on some of the really long hikes but we will save them for next time and my son and I can do the walking and maybe get dropped off.

I am still trying to get used to posting the pictures and still learning so sorry for my gaps in between pictures, etc. Here are a few more.

I can never get tired of this view from our villa. Our day tomorrow will be with Captain John and we are all very excited so we ended the day early with dinner at the villa.

I'm really enjoying reading your trip report, sounds like you had an awesome time!
We'll be heading to St. John for the first time in only few months, so it's really interesting "seeing" the island from a first-timer perspective.
Thank you for posting these, and the pictures look great!
