Day 8 – Caneel Bay Day & Happy Fish

Went to Caneel Bay to spend the day with Colleen and Kyle. Wow! It is nice to see how the other half lives. LOL

First, we rode around the grounds with them, looking at Caneel – it is kept immaculate.

Then Colleen and Kyle took us to lunch at the Grill restaurant and we had a great time. They are super folks and we really hope they come up our way and visit one day! All having burgers and fries or onion rings. Why does food taste so much better at the beach?

After lunch we sat up to the right of Turtle Bay and went snorkeling. I saw my first two octopi. One
totally out in the open, he flattened himself and changed to the sand color. The other was inside a rock, but I could see he purple head. We stayed there until after 5 pm and could have stayed all night as it was a perfect spot in life.

We took them to their next hotel destination, dropped them off and we headed home and took a much needed shower.

After looking at restaurant menus we decided on Happy Fish and were we ever pleased with our decision. First, we saw Barbara from Freebirds and went to speak to her. She is a super nice lady and we are happy to have met her!

Then we had the most pleasant waitress. I would have to say that the entire Staff at Happy Fish were, well, HAPPY!!

When Barbara left she must have put a bug in the ear of the owner, David, because he stopped at our table, introduced himself and wished us a happy anniversary. He was so pleasant and he is proud of his restaurant. He sent an awesome cocktail concoction to our table. Sake, and vodka, and lots of good juices, wow!! We spoke to him again before leaving and let him know we will be back before we leave!

After that we did our usual – came home and went to bed. A day in the sun and a good meal knocks us out!

Going to Caneel for the first time in November- thanks for the report- can't wait! Sounds like there was some good snorkeling. I also can't believe you are on day 8 already.....

What a great time we had at Caneel with our awesome forumite buddies! I'm a tad bit bummed that we are home now and they are still there having fun!

And SOonthebeach!!!! SOOOOO jealous you'll be at Caneel in November AND back for the 8 Tuff Miles in February!! How'd you swing that??? SWEET!
