Trip Report - Days 4&5
Hi all - Sorry it is taking me so long to write this trip report but we have been really busy or should I say the kids have me really busy.
Day 4 - We had decided the night before that we would try Francis Bay even though I had read that there tends to be lots of mosquitos after it has rained. Well, did not notice the mosquitos in fact, really not the whole trip. It was amazing that our kids legs looked like a battlefield of bites but my husband and I had maybe 3 bites.
When we arrived at Francis we saw our first Iguana - cool. Not many people on the beach when we got there but by the time we left there were cars all over. This is really where we experienced how cool snorkeling really was. We saw so many different fish and I think by this time we were all pretty use to snorkeling except for maybe my husband who took it really slow.
My son and I met a very nice lady who came up to us and started talking. She was from New Mexico but originally went to a college in our area (Widener) when I told her I use to play against them in sports she was so surprised and said I was the first person who ever knew where this college was. We spent most of the day on Francis and then went back to the villa for swimming and burgers and drinks. What a great day.

Day 5 - Well, today we decided to go out toward the east end to Hanson Bay. I had told everyone about Vie's and they were all excited to try her food. I also told them she might not be there as that sometimes happens. Well off we went and what a beautiful drive. If you do go to STJ you must at least go out toward the east end at least once. By this time my husband thinks he is a race car driver and we have some discussions about slowing down and taking it easy on the curves - the kids are use to our conversations on driving
When we arrive at Hansen unfortunately Vie's was not open. I was hoping that it was still early and she was just not in yet but that was not the case. Oh well, I guess we need to come back again! We found the gate and put our money in the box. I think Hansen is a very nice beach but I am sure Vie's is the big attraction. Some of the other beaches we visited just had more appeal but we would definitely go back. At Hansen we saw some fish that we had not seen yet and I loved the coral and rocks. Again, we saw a couple turtles which made our daughter very happy. My son and I went out a bit further and snorkeled the rocks on the other side and that was pretty good too. There may have been about 3 or 4 families on the beach and we had a family come sit right next to us. I love to meet new people but I was thinking there is a whole beach here and you have to sit right next to us? ok - I guess I am being mean - sorry. Anyway, we had a fabulous day at Hansen but had to call it a day around 1:00 since we did not bring lunch as we were going to eat at Vie's. Since we were heading back towards Coral Bay we decided to stop at Skinny's and have lunch. I ordered the Blue Burger and I thought it was yucky so I gave it to my husband and he really liked it. He gave me his burger which was some special and it was very good. The kids both had cheeseburgers and enjoyed them too.
Skinny's was really cool but I can see how some people do not like it. It really does not look appealing. We loved the drinks here and the waitress was really nice. Our daughter bought a shirt and our son a hat. We then went back to the villa and then showered and went back into Cruz Bay and ended up at High Tide after walking around for awhile. Before High Tide we stopped at Lime Inn just to look at the menu. We did not eat here but is on my list for next time. We also had a drink at Rhumblines while our daughter sat on the swings which she thought was really neat. At High Tide we had a beautiful sunset and the meal was pretty good too. The kids were really enjoying themselves as we were too.
