Cash??

Post by Backtotheislands »

Which restaurants/bars/activities accept cash only? I know the bars on Jost do only cash and the fee to get into the BVI. What about local restaurants and bars?(Aqua Bistro, Island Blues, Beach Bar, Waterfront Bistro, etc?) Willie T? Water at the lumberyard (AND is it in bottles or gallon jugs??)? Help, we need to know who won't take credit cards! Leaving soon! :? Thanks in advance.

We used credit card at Cinnamon Bay one day and then went back again 3 or 4 days later where they told us only cash no credit cards

With all this talk about who takes cash, who takes credit . . . how about ATMs? Are there any on the island?

J&C - I know there's a 24-hour ATM at FirstBank, right in Cruz Bay, catty-corner across the street from Connections. At least, I remember getting $$ there. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct. There are actually two side by side there. However, I have been there when both ATMs were down -- either out of money or just broken. Don't let your cash funds get too low at any one time. There is also an ATM in the complex where Starfish is located.

There's also an ATM at the same mall Starfish Market is in. On the first floor past starfish. Atm's on the island are sometimes down. So I count on getting atm cash out as a bonus. We pay with credit cards wherever we can, and try to take enough cash for the rest. There are not alot of places which accept Discover cards, so don't count on using that one even in places that take plastic.
