St John 2011 Snorkel Pics

Post by cptnkirk »

Honey and I just spent two glorious weeks on St John to celebrate our 25th. Couldn't have asked for any better weather and the snorkeling conditions were to die for. Calm waters gin clear water and the sun was out most of the time while on the water. Perfect for pics. I'll try to post some highlights of the trip later but for now enjoy these snorkel pics that I just uploaded. Theres a bunch around 300.

Yep, agree with the rest. Some terrific shots in there.

I've never had luck with underwater cameras. Can't decide whether to get another one for our next trip.

That Octopus was great! But he didn't look too happy with you. Loved the web feet from below shot. Where were you?

Ok don't laugh, it's a vivatar 6200v $90 camera. The pics come out looking like dog $hit until I edit them with Picasa. No expert with underwater pics but I would think you have to edit most underwaters no matter what camera you have, gotta get rid of that blue. I did have the best conditions you could ask for, two straight weeks of it. I was in snorkeling heaven :D

saw 4 octipi all at Haulover South. Must have been having a convention there. I was so happy as they were the first sightings ever. That was a goal this trip as it was one of the few things I have yet to experience.

That was the point between Maho and Little Maho. I am going to post a cool snorkeling story with that pic and some others in sequence.

Glad you guys enjoyed :D I was really happy with what I got this trip for sure. Figure that is the best conditions I will ever get on a vacation.

Nice shots captkirk. Going to have to try to visits the Haulovers next trip.

I agree about editing underwater shots, however the Canon D10 does have an Underwater setting on it which takes some of the initial haziness away, especially when you have some slightly murky conditions.
How many more days?
