That's St. Thomas in the background with Thatch, Grass & Mingo Cays on the right. Though I've never been up there I am guessing it was taken from somewhere on the Caneel Hill Trail overlooking Cruz Bay.

I have to agree with the person who said it was taken from Kenny's house, for 2 reasons.
Years ago we stayed at Kenny's house before it was remodeled/expanded to be Kenny's house. I have an old photo from there and it has the same background. It is rare to have a photo taken from that area that looks over Hawksnest area of Caneel in that direction.
Recently we stayed at a villa next door to Kenny's house and I have a similiar picture( but not the same orientation) from this house. This house looks out over Caneel, with a background from STT to Johnson'e Reef. Kenny's property looks directly out to STT from some areas, and out over Caneel almost to Jost from others. In any case this pic may also have been taken from up-near-in front grounds of the Clinic. I dont believe that there is any building or land higher than the 2 houses and the clinic that has the same view and orientation.

Thanks for the scoop guys! I thought it was from KC's house, but it was shot in a different direction than what I had normally seen. Amazing views both ways!
Knolmom- what is the name of the other house that is up there? Is it still in the rental market? I love that view- would love to check it out.

Or, like Colleen, I could check into the clinic for that awesome view

Trust me, you dont want to check into the clinic. Been there, done that and the rooms don't face the sea. And dont think about Schneider -that's no picinic either.
