The edition that I have was updated in 2003. We shared a 4 hour island tour with Pam Gaffin our last trip with another couple. She really knows her stuff. Quite a dynamic and interesting woman.
Going "home" again October 26th!

Well, things get extreme fast on STJ. If you haven't driven there before, it takes a while to get used to the paved roads. The road to Lameshure Bay, Bordeaux Mountain Road, Ajax Road, Privateer Bay Road (paved, but interesting), Fish Bay Road and John Head Road are all unpaved and have varying degrees of scariness.

I won't drive all the way down John Head Road or Bordeaux Mountain Road.

Privateer Bay Road has some great views. Fish Bay Road shows you the South Shore Experience

More than once, when I've been looking at an island map and note Bordeaux Mountain Road, my reaction has been "There's no road there! Huh?"

On our recent trip we were passengers in a RE broker's Jeep and she drove up some mighty steep ground that back here we'd describe as a stream bed! Jeezum! What price a stupendous view?
