Calypso Charters

Post by Ron in South Texas »

I've seen a lot of posts about Calypso dingy's, but I haven't found much info about their daysails...especially to Jost van Dyke. I was wondering how they stack up against the other "outfits" on St John. I can't afford to rent a boat and a captain and I really don't want to take the ferry.

Any help would be appreciated!! :D

Thanks in advance!!

I've done the Calypso day sail to Jost twice in the last 3 years. It's a great day!!! You get (I think) 2 snorkel stops, then off to Foxy's for lunch and drinks, of course, then over to White Bay for what seems like a pretty long stay. Very nice boat and crew. Sherree, the owner, is great.

You have to add the price of lunch and customs fees to the cost of the trip, to get an actual total.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks Cypressgirl. We are trying to decide on an itinerary for our trip. We have never been to the BVI's and I would like to see what is over there. JVD looks interesting, especially Foxy's and the
Soggy Dollar. I see that they use a catamaran. My wife gets a little green  on anything on any other kind of boat.

Thanks again!! :D

It's a larger catamaran and the trip over to Jost is much shorter than going someplace like The Baths. You will love Jost. Little Cypressgirl and I were actually talking about spending a night there to get the vibe of the night life.

Have a great time and be sure to post a report!!
