I am enjoying reading all of the posts about your experience. Sometimes, I think I'm the only one who encounters the awkward moments. In reply:
Rick, did I miss your post,...?
Mu, you had me going for the first 2 lines..cracked me up! I was thinking, what are the odds that this couple might be forum members. It could happen and then I'd have to deal with it!
Alw, I agree, the bad mothering thing brought back my only other awkward moment in 2008. We were in Cruz early a.m. waiting for our day sail to Jost. Down the quiet street comes mom in front holding hand of 4 year old, Dad behind with toddler on his shoulders, yelling at mom about what a horrible mother she was and he was getting the kids. Mom and I had this eye contact moment. I had a puzzled look and she looked sad and shrugged her shoulders.
I remember a 2007 Maho Camp ride, Hamilton's Taxi, back to Maho. We picked up a couple in Cruz. The older lady was dressed to the nines and accompanied by a cabana boy. She kept asking about the night life at Maho. We were sun bleached and snorkle haired, looking rough, saying there is a movie night at the pavillion, "Hook." She had on so much bling it was blinding. The CB just smiled the whole time. Once we arrived, she went to the front desk and wanted to know how to get to Caneel!
Our first night this trip, up to villa, back to Cruz for High Tide dinner. A delightful older man engaged me in conversation about where I was from, why and how long there. I told him we had HS grads with us and this was their trip for graduation. He says, "So I'm sure a pretty lady like you enjoys the blunt." I smiled and said, "I'm the Mimi and I don't do that." He smiled as he walked away and said "enjoy your stay."

My most awkward Cruz Bay moment from last trip was being informed by a young employee of one business that they truly hated their second job at another Cruz Bay business because the owner of said business was a raging meth addict.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
After hitting the food festival, we decided to go over to the Beach Bar and have dinner and drinks. While we were waiting to be served, two young couples were leaving and one gentleman was giving his girlfriend a piggy-back ride out of the Beach Bar and said to her "say something memorable". She yells out "I LOVE C*CK!!". Needless to say she had had a few to many cocktails. The next day we saw her and her girlfriend with their bags getting ready to leave the Island, she wasn't looking very refreshed.
