We Have Never Needed A Large Villa, But......

Post by greyhoundmom »

2012 seems to be the year of the come backs...those family and friends that have been before but all want to come a second time. We rented Adeste last year for 6 people...love, love Coral Bay. Is their a Coral Bay villa with 5/6 bedrooms that you recommend? We did a really budget villa a few weeks ago in Fish Bay (when the trip report happens, I'll try to be very positive  We would love a decent pool and a good kitchen...also the porches need to be great since we are outside people..don't care about tv, wi-fi. I have a big trip to plan and want it to be very comfortable. Thanks for any input!

The only large house that we've rented is Chateau Margot on Bordeaux Mtn. The house has a very nice pool and a great kitchen. The one thing this villa lacks is a covered outdoor area. We had great weather so it didn't matter. I'd rent this house again.

How about Ixora--lots of outdoor space and 5BR's as I recall.

The only large house I've rented is Vistaero in May 09 overlooking Rendezvous Bay. It's not the Coral Bay side, but it worked very well for our group of 12. The decks are very large, pool is big too (maybe 15 x 20), common spaces (kitchen, living room) were also very spacious. The view is spectacular - more impressive than in the pictures. In May 09, the Destination St. John pictures of the villa and furnishings were accurate. When we were there, everything was in good condition and working order. There was a subsequent review where someone found some maintenance lacking and the hot tub wasn't working, but I think another review later didn't mention any of those problems so they may have done some maintenance.

There is this one.....

http://windspree.com/home.php/3/Casa%20de%20Suenos%20 - the deck space is not huge but a great home with a separate guest house. It is located close to the Tourist Trap.

We have rented Mystic Ridge again and again - great space but ony 4 bdrms. They used to rent the caretakers house that has 2 bdrms. I agree Chateau Margot is an excellent choice. Kathy gave us a tour. Give her a call: http://www.islandgetawaysinc.com/

We stay at Ixora every year and love it. 5 bedrooms (2 masters), sleeps 10, 60' lap pool, sits on Ajax Peak looking down on Coral Bay. One reason we like it is because it's right near the yogurt stand, real easy access to both north shore beaches and Coral Bay. Francis is 5 min drive. No a/c but we've never required it. This past April we slept with a blanket on, total exposure to the trade winds.
