ATM's

Post by luvstjohn »

Hello all out there. I have a question about the ATM's on the island.

Is there only just the one at the bank in town or are there more? Last time we were there that bank in town ran out of money. Was that a freak thing or is this something that can happen at any time? We will be there over carnival and I want to make sure I have enough cash or am able to get more if need be. Thanks all for you help as always.

We like hit the Scotiabank at the Marketplace, near Starfish. We were not charged for ATM transactions there in May.

Sounds like you're staying in Cruz Bay, but it's worth noting that there's an ATM at both Lily's Market, and Love City Market over in Coral Bay.

It does not appear to be a freak thing that the ATMs run out of money.

Therefore it is not a bad idea to "cash up" before you really need it i.e. if you walk past one that is working but you may not need it for a day or two, better safe than sorry to hit it when available.

Maybe some island folks can chime in and confirm this impression.
