and the hunt begins...

Post by Xislandgirl »

Last night I see a post about a USAIR sale.
15 minutes later we booked flights :shock: for 4/21 - 4/29

I really thought we would not go next year, we need a roof and well, money will be tight.

I am considering Coral Bay, it would be our first time staying there. We are Cruz Bay people, but I just don't think we can find what we are looking for with our budget on that side of the island.

We loved Harborview this year but I think that we need a bit more.
A/C in bedroom a must
Pool would be 1st choice, but we would compromise with a hot tub only.
We do not want a property that has multiple units or owner on site. It is not that we are doing anything wrong, but it is vacation and I don't want to worry about bothering someone at night or in the morning.

There is a small possibilty that another couple will join us which will change the whole search but if you have ny thoughts on a place for just the 2 of us, let me know.

First time I saw this was today, but it looks nice and budget friendly (especially for high season rate, but I think maybe that could be negotiated considering the dates). Not sure if a studio would be acceptable for you.

We'll be on island around the same time. We booked for the South Shore, but I'm having some "renter's remorse" and have been missing the Coral Bay side, so I've been searching Coral Bay villas for any future trips.

Good luck with your search, and congrats!

I inquired about this for that time. It was $199/nt. There is a two burner cooktop. No oven but gas grill.

Villa Jumbie
http://www.vrbo.com/304755
available... $1800. for two
Some very small negatives I see... queen, not king, bed;
no outdoor dining table seen in pics;
lower setting may not have great breezes... very, very small negatives indeed!
And... room for that second couple for a little more.
... no longer a stranger to paradise

I'll strongly second Villa Jumbie.
Like I mentioned, we stayed there this past May and absolutely loved it. It's up Seagrape Hill, just over The Donkey Diner & Skinny's-great location.
The pix on their website did not nearly do any justice regarding the villas size.
We had no problems with the beds, and I'm 6ft.3.
We're thinking about going back there next year.
Can't say enough about how wonderful not only the home was, but also how great the owners were to work with.
Good luck, and always-
Smiles-

Have you considered Sail View? It's a duplex, but I hear that sometimes the other half isn't rented. It looks so nice and comes highly recommended by Pia! :D

X, I have stayed here and will again in January 2011. Mike and Eileen are on site but give you 100% privacy. The place is truly wonderful. No pool but we didn't miss it at all. The price is amazing. The room is well stock when you arrive, has a coffee maker. Eileen provides fresh towels when needed. It actually has more perks then your standard villa.

Any questions, please ping me.

I've worked on Villa Jumbie a few times, even fallen into the pool by accident once or twice :wink: . nice view, good roads and close to what's happening in coral bay. Try here. http://www.caribehavens.com/ the owner, Nancy is a friend and has some budget rentals.
