This is probably the token, stereotypical question but does the draft change depending on who watches it?

Okay, lost me there...splain.

Just trying to communicate my confusion on why watching the draft is so important for some.

Funny thread, seems like a win-win to me too.

I'm a NY Giants season ticket holder for 10 years and I've never watched the Draft, nor do I play in any fantasy leagues nor do I call into any sports talk radio (although I listen to it). The only time I watched anything close to a draft was when the Knicks won the rights to draft Patrick Ewing. But I will check the papers the next day and watch all sports on the evening news to see whom the Giants drafted and if anyone from my college got drafted.

No the draft does not change because of who is watching it but it is exciting. What makes it more so is that it is at the Beach Bar!! Think American Idol.

Yes, it makes a difference to actually watch the game instead of just getting the score the next day. Mark hit on the head when he suggested, "think American Idol" or for that matter Bachelor. Seriously, can't you women just read about it the next day?! Of course not...we're no different, really. It's all about the drama and the build up. We just see drama in different ways.

And, by the way, what are you doing inviting 20 people over on game day? Not good. Unless, of course, it's 20 serious fans who want to watch the game and also bring liquor with them.

With that said, watching the draft is not all that exciting. I probably could read about that the next day.

Leaving Thursday for 10 Days on Island. Have been a Patriots Season Ticket holder since 1975. Have been trying to get to watch the NFL Draft on Saturday but my wife said NO WAY. Had to get a way to watch, we have 2 first round picks. I suprised her today with a Massage treatment from Nomadic Spa. She was so happy that she scheduled it on Saturday so I can watch the Draft. You know what they say on the commercial. Watching the Draft PRICELESS!!!

Delurking again. The only draft RickG and I will be watching this Saturday is the "draught" at the Tap Room. Cheers!

oops -- I didn't mean to turn this into a battle of the sexes fighting over sports! I have long since given up rights to the remote control, and also have to admit that games look pretty dang cool in HD. I actually do love watching my husband watch sports, he gets so into it! Just sometimes shake my head at the timing, that's all.

Kudos to the idea of getting a massage for your wife so you can watch the draft. That is definitely something I can sign up for, esp. in STJ!!

I'd definitely watch a ball game (any kind of ball) before American Idol or any other reality show, but I see where you're coming from. It's the whole "process" thing some people like so much I guess.

Then, when your team wins a championship and the guy you watched get drafted gets MVP you can say "I knew it when they drafted him." Okay, maybe not.

Nomadic is great. I had a massage and body scrub by Casey (a boy, for some reason I thought Casey was a girl name) but that's ok. He was fantastic.
