Do you wear your Buffs while snorkeling?

Post by Coden »

Do you wear your Buffs while snorkeling? And if so, how do they stay on when you dive down and put your head in the water?

Thnx!!

Actually they workedquite well as we snorkeled. As far as them staying on under water, your mask holds them in place. Mqy wife swears by them now because thye keep her hair out of her face and from underneath her gogles. :D

Thnx Bert - we'll go buy a couple. We found them at a local shop for $18...is that a good price?

I'd say that is a pretty good price. On line at PanetBuff.com, they are anywhere from $14.00 to $27.00 for the UV Buffs.

Thnx Bert - we'll go back to the store tomorrow and make sure they read UV...I think they did, but will double check.

They fit snugly on your head, you don't need to do anything special to keep them on while snorkeling. Don't use the cap or pirate method while snorkeling though, choose the pull over variation. I only wear it while snorkeling, while floating in the water I switch to a wide brimmed hat or at least a ball cap for added shade and sun protection.

I bought 2 buffs at St John spice last year. I don't remember the tag saying UV protection- but I never get burned thru them. They were $8. Wish I would have bought at least 2 more.

Thnx Liamsaunt - I've put your info into my spreadsheet.
:)

Sumerwaters - that is a great price...maybe I'll call Ruth today and see if she still has some. I am making our coffee/tea/spice order with her to pick up after we hit the ferry dock, and can add two buffs.

OK, thanks. Silly name except if your head is bald and you want to shine it up...
