Help me put together a costume

Post by mrsb »

I know it is months away. I will need some time to prepare or maybe make a costume and it helps the time pass when I have a task involving prep for the St John vacation. I am so excited that we will be on St John for Halloween this year. I will try to convince Mrb to dress up-we'll see. I don't want to end up with a coconut top and grass skirt. Please help :D

I must think of a prize for best suggestion or you guys can help with that too.
When will I see St John again?

You could dress as a tourist. Exaggerate everything that tourists are known for. Loud shirt, plaid shorts, black socks with sandals, big floppy hat, sun screen on your nose, multiple toy cameras around you neck.

Or... I know that this has been done, but it requires only things that you can get on the island. You and MrB could go as M&M. You would be plain and he would be with nuts. Just use a plastic trash bag and put the M's on it with duct tape or something.

I may have more lucid thoughts after my first cup of coffee soaks in.

Time to start working on convincing the wife that we have to go back soon!

I made my niece the Extreme tourist one year! It was funny. And easy.

A friend of mine showed up once at a Halloween party in his regular clothes with a string of empty cereal boxes around his neck & hanging down his front. Each box had several plastic knives stuck in it (not table knives, but like daggers) and guess what he was..... A Serial Killer! LOL!

If you go as pirates, you can not only honor the rowdy history of the islands, but also use rum as part of your costume!

Ha ha Goat!!! I am liking all these ideas so far. Iam trying to figure out how to dress up as a Jeep. Cardboard would be hard to pack and take some work. Tent poles and material might do it.

Just get you a Jeep T-shirt & a steering wheel, then put your St. John Forum bumber sticker on your rear end--DONE!

I think you should dress up like your avatar and go around the island doing the "peanut butter jelly time" dance.

What about a lobster or a shark or some kind of fish?
I've seen good Lobster costumes online. It may be a little hot though.

Well, here I am again. There is work to be done and I am avoiding it.

LSU- I really like that idea. It is very funny. I think I should do tire tracks on the "goat" too :D I could still have a bottle of rum in my hand too

Augie- A dog in a banana costume is beyond my sewing capabilities right now and it would be hot. And...I don't think anyone watches TV down there so would they even get it? Maybe I can get working on that for a year or two down the road

OK- now what kind of prize to offer? I don't have any coozies. Any other ideas?

I didn' t have a costume, so I took my shirt and shoes off. When the host opened the door I was told it was a costume party and what the hell was I supposed to be? I said that I was a "premature ejac*ulation and I just came in my jeans."
