Great report. We're heading back for my 50th next year. The nomadic spa idea is definately on my must do list.

Wow. That villa looked so relaxing, right on the beach there. Nomadic spa is pretty good I think. Had a great massage from them.
When will I see St John again?

Wow, thanks for all your comments everyone!

To Tracy in WI: I figured the photo taken from Shipwreck Landing would reveal the identity of Spindrift to several folks; I eyed it from there for years myself ;-)

To mia & kirk: I'm so glad we gave St. Thomas a chance. We really did enjoy our day/night there. Next year we may do the same thing for our last night. We found another B&B in the very same area called Bella Vista: http://www.bellavista-bnb.com.

To anjebear: Have a wonderful time at Spindrift starting Saturday! One note: The dirt road to the villa has a LOT of pot holes; you'll see--and feel--what I mean, but the trek does get easier each time.

To liamsaunt & mia: I also wondered (worried) that we would be in a dead calm situation. But the breeze was constant (it was great) and circulated through the main house well. We were never bothered by mosquitos.

Cheers,

We just got back home this past Sunday and we actually went sailing last Thursday with friends out of Coral Bay...passed by your rental and thought it was fab. Totally off the beaten path I'll add. Checked it out with binocs going and coming. Saw the house next door also. Looks neat too. We had a great afternoon of Mangrove snorkeling in Hurricane hole that day.

Nice report...appreciate the added STT touch...we so enjoy our STT time also. Sounds like a great trip. :D
Hoping for a USVI ticker in 2013!

Lucky girl! I'll keep an eye out for you. Maybe we'll see you at Aqua Bistro or Island Blues? We'll get the binoculars out while we are Shipwreck Landing.

Neysa, thanks for the great trip report and pictures. Is Carolina Corral on the road out to Spindrift?

Cheers, RickG

RickG, you are right! Pass Carolina Corral and at the eventual fork, go right and Spindrift (and Forts Cove) is down at the end. Going left at the fork takes you (almost) up to the Fortsberg ruins.

That's pretty cool. Dana at Carolina Corral is very cool. My daughters love riding with her. Did you get any equine visitors while you are there? Dana lets the horses out in the morning for an unsupervised walkabout.

Rick,

You watch those binoculars. I may be taking a shower outside.

We will be the three crazy brothers and the sane (insane) sister-in-laws.

If you show me your villa I'll show you mine.

I think we are doing Miss Lucy's for Sunday brunch.
