Kristen,

LOVED your trip report. I was there the 2 weeks before and I was bummed I missed dinner and a movie at La Plancha. We recommended that they show Meatballs :) It's our favorite restaurant too - love the owners and the food is outstanding.

One stop you didn't hit was Sam and Jack's deli - AMAZING! It's now my favorite (hands down) over Deli Grotto.

Thanks again for taking the time to post this.

Thanks all! And yes, that is a Fred's T shirt that Reed is wearing.

Where is Sam and Jack's? Will have to put that on the list for next year. We tried Deli Grotto because everyone raves about it. Another place in Wharfside village that makes good sandwiches is Mojo Cafe.

Brown Nut Monkey Heads are yummy but it may take a little trial and error to perfect it as I don't know the exact amounts.

Coconut water
Coconut rum
Fresh squeezed lime juice

I am just now seeing all of my typos etc. ugh. Sorry! but you all should be used to my crappy typing by now

Anyway, the "maitre'd" at Plancha wasn't really that. That sounds stuffy. I meant to put host/part owner. Great guy.

Great trip report, Kristen! We leave in 2 1/2 weeks so I will keep your restaurant choices in mind. I just went online to order a backpack cooler so thanks for the tip! Glad you had fun!
I am going to have to reread and find out where you had the Brown Nut Monkey Heads. Sounds awesome!

Thanks so much for the TR!

Loved all the details, good and bad. Ugh, getting locked out of the bedroom. But, like you wrote, you can laugh about it now!

Thanks for all the restaurant info too :)

Great report and pics, thanks for sharing! By the way, I presume that random soccer match the guys wanted to see was the champions league final....probably 2nd most watched sporting event in the world, next to world cup final. Most Americans are oblivious of it. :( I'm very impressed they blew off some beach time on vacation to see it! :)
