St. John veterans, what's on your bucket list?

Post by Chicken »

OK. No Beach Bar, no Trunk Bay. For those of you who make the yearly pilgrimage (or more) to "The Rock," what are some things you still want to try but haven't yet?

My top 5...OK, top 6:

1. Have some garlic chicken and conch fritters at Vie's. Been trying for 10 years and I can never seem to catch her open.

2. Jump off the Willy T.

3. Snorkel Kiddle Bay.

4. Have a beach BBQ with friends at Lamshur.

5. Hike Peace Hill and Denis Bay.

6. Ring the bell at Skinny's and buy a round for everyone!

Does your ticker say you will be on STJ for 7 weeks? If so, you'll be able to do everything on your bucket list and more!!
Your list kinda looks like my list except I have snorkeled Kiddle Bay. If you snorkel to the right towards Grootpan it's pretty amazing!
Here's my bucket list for our upcoming trip:
BVI trip on Palm Tree Charters and maybe jump off the Willy T.
Snorkel Haulover north and south and eat at Vie's
Visit Denis Bay and Lameshures
Stay at Caneel Bay
Reef Bay Hike
Dinner at Plancha Del Mar and Rhumblines and La Tapa!

That's about it!
I've got 2 tickets to paradise~Pack your bags we'll leave tonight!

The one thing I keep meaning to do but haven't is to hike to Brown Bay and snorkel there. I'd also like to explore some of the bays on the east end that are accessible via boat.

Finally, I'd really like to see a leatherback turtle but I think I would have to visit St. Croix to have a chance for that.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I am drafting my list by reading this thread. :D

Hiking is something I'd like to do on the island, but since we are going in July, we'll wait and see how hot and how many bugs there are. The kids aren't as excited to hike as we are.

I'd also like to get a diving license to extend our experience, but with snorkeling as good as it is, I just can't get motivated to do it.

We've managed to whittle our list down considerably the last couple of years, but among the remaining items are:

Watch the sunset from Zozo's (never have been there).

Visit and shop at Josephine's Greens.

Hike the Yowzi Point Trail and snorkel off of the point there.

Have a villa gravity day.

Hike to Ram Head to watch the full moon rise.

Night snorkel.

EDIT: Almost forgot a biggie - see Inner Visions perform live. Thought we had this one taken care of this past spring, but American Airlines had other ideas...
Come see us!

I guess mine would be to meet Guy Benjamin, as well as Sloop Jones.
Would love one of his "one of a kind" shirts...
Also to enjoy a picnic on any one of the beaches with friends from the forum...
I always seem to miss the (other) good stuff...
