Bert's Trip Reprt - Day 2- 5/24 - 6/3

Post by CariBert »

I forgot to mention that the travelers were, my sister and BIL from Seattle, me (Bert) and my wife (Barb). When my sister and her husband go with us to da islans, they fly from Seattle to here, spend a few days here shopping, because they have no summer clothes in Seattle, then we take off for St. John. It is one hellofva long trip all the way from Seattle, so the break in Dallas is very welcomed!

Wednesday we got up to a cloudy morning, good thing it was an in town day, and had omelets for breakfast. (Food Porn alert)

We then went into Cruz Bay for our first day of shopping, stopping at R&I Patton to empty our heavy pockets. Don't want to be carrying around a whole bunch of extra money, you know. Shopped around Mongoose Junction, stopping at the more important places, like the Tap Room..

Then we headed up to Woody's for lunch and bushwhackers.
First a brewski:

Then some Bushwhackers and BBC's:

Then Lunch: I had the Shark Bites...very good!

Barb had the Blackened Fish Sandwich:

My sister had the Grouper Fingers:

And my BIL had a pork sandwich. All very tasty!

We then headed over to the Beach Bar for more libations, and we passed the infamous park re-do:

Yeah, that looks like they'll get done in time for Festival....NOT! Then we went to the Beach Bar for more Bushwackers and to see Boo. Don't care for the new layout of the Beach Bar very much.

Beach Bar new lay out...

Stopped by Pine Peace market to pick up some groceries. Then back home for some pool time and lime and coconut drinks. Also tried some black cherry rum and coke. That would be a Cuba Libre with a kick and a twist!

Had hamburger patties, aparagus, Caesar salad for dinner with a little wine.

We did most of our meals at the villa. Ate out a couple of times...more on that later. Mostly we spent the evening on the deck, eating,

or playing Angry Birds....dam game is adictive....

To bed at our normal bed time -9pm. Tomorrow, another exciting day at the ACC, Sloop Jones, and more!
