cookin' with valley doll
just sauteed chicken tenders in valley doll hot sauce for my kids --just a bit in the pan and medium ten low heat--they LOVED it--now doing cauliflower--- have used it as a marinade-- what do you do with Valley doll ?
< leaving on the 22nd of march...but too lame to figure out the ticker thing again!>
Ok, this is going to sound weird but we like to bread strips of chicken (white meat) with Capt. Crunch and serve with a side of STJ hot sauce. We also buy lots of hot sauce when on vacation so I am always looking for ways to use it.
Years ago, we were at a restaurant in DC that served Capt. Crunch chicken fingers with a side of really hot mustard. When I was facing two boxes of hot sauce shipped home from STJ Spice, I bought a box and started breading.
Use only the yellow pieces. Crunch Berries turn the chicken a weird pink color.
I smash the cereal in a large ziploc and use it at a coating. Most times I do it in the oven because I don't like the mess of deep frying. I have fried this for a group and it was a huge hit.
The intense sweetness of the chicken against the hot sauce makes a nice combo.

I love the curried Valley Doll hot sauce. I use it on fish sandwiches and chicken roti. I also use it as a garnish on corn chowder.
PAGirl, I have done rice krispie coated and cornflake coated chicken fingers before. I can see the Captain Crunch working well too.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
