Cool Gadget Alert!

Post by ms411 »

A scuba mask with a built-in video/still camera!

I just got my May (magazines always arrive late here) issue of PC World, and in the Tech Spotlight section they mentioned a Liquid Image $350 dive mask with integrated camera that can record 720p HD video and take 5 MG stills. With this camera your hands stay free while diving snorkeling.

Guess you can find out more by googling.

Sounds fun, but how do you see what you're shooting?

Someone here on the forum got one of those about a year ago and posted pictures taken with it. The pix were pretty good! I think it's a way cool idea! :D

Mr B. had one of these masks. it was pretty cool. He offered to let me use it when I was going out alone but I was timid about breaking something that wasn't mine, but it looked neat! :) ( your post brought back a wonderful memory of a great person!! Thank you!!! :D :D )

It's probably MrB that I'm thinking of. I miss him too. :(

I bought one from Hammacher last year. So-So performance from the camera, hard to frame the shots, you have to compensate by looking down below the object you want to shoot. Mask was leaky, so I bought a Canon D10 and use my good mask. I'm having better luck this way. IMO
