Mid Life Crisis final

Post by parafins »

May 10th.Got up early again and headed out for Trunk Bay.At 7:00 a.m. you not only get in free, but you also have the whole beach to yourself!Very peaceful, and calm.ImageI walked the whole beach twice, then returned to Maho camps to pack.Said my goodbye's and drove to Cruz.Gave the jeep up @ 10 then visited St.John spice.{Thanks Ruth and hubby for holding my backpack while I shopped}I visited area shops for tee shirts, then visited & toured Gallows Pt.After that I walked over to Coconut Coast Gallery, then condo's.I toured there as well.I walked back to Cruz and ate at Joe's dinner?$4.75 for a hamberger, not a bad price at all!The rain started in as I ate.It never did improve though out the rest of the day.But that's o.k.,the weather was perfect from May 2nd till now.I was on the 2:00 ferry heading to S.T.T.By the time the flight and drive was over it was 3:30 a.m..The kids had me up @ 6:00 a.m.and I didn't mind at all! :D I'm not sure if I will go back in May again.I like summer and fall. The water temps was a bit cool in May and i'm used to the summer "bathwater".It great for night snorkeling!Parafins

Enjoyed your report. You amazed me how much you could fit in one day. We also like to go to Trunk bay early and walk. The lifeguards told us from one end to the other end of beach is 1/4 mile. What a beautiful way to get some exercise in.

My wife, and children know that I can run them ragged on vacation.I did relax on this trip believe it or not.Once I put a mask on and snorkel,I just float and let my worry's melt away. :D Also I should note that May is a great time to visit if you like to camp or walk trails. It was perfect for that!Parafins

I have enjoyed reading about your solo adventure, so different from my vacations and that made it so interesting to read about.

Did you get lonely? Or did a good book keep you company? I have thought about doing a solo trip with my boys joining me halfway into the trip but don't know that they would stay behind. Mr. PA wants nothing to do with camping but I suspect he wouldn't stand for missing out. No doub, he would check into Caneel while Little PA and I stayed at Maho.

PA Girl,I thought I might be lonely, but as campers we are a friendly not so shy group. My dad tought me that.Dad would strike up a conversation with anyone near his site.{still does}Where are you from? How did you discover this place?Ect,ect. So on this trip I tried that and it worked. On night a couple near me started a campfire.I took the "dumpster chair" and turned it around to enjoy the fire from my site.It wasn't long and I ventured over.Soon after I was eating dinner with them and talking up a storm.Nice folks! Many forum folks took me under their wing also.Even if I had no one to talk to ,the trails and snorkeling keeped me busy enough ,that I wouldn't care if I was lonely.Parafins
