Long View, Sea Cay or Orchid villa info

Post by toni »

Finally got new flights booked for November after continental cancelled flights and messed us up. Now I'm picking out the place to stay. Spent many hrs researching (as always!) and have it narrowed down to the above 3. Well actually Daffodil villa is a possibility too, but we'll be on stj only part of thanksgiving week, and they don't want to break the week as of yet.

So any info? Comments? Critiques? We've stayed on rendezvous bay before and love that side for that time of year, enjoy the heat and the views.

Thanks for any help!

Villas

Stayed at Orchid 4 years ago and we loved the location and house. This was even before it was refurbrished. If you know Rendevous then you know this is closer to the water than Sea Cay, and certainly newer.
Forget whether you said Magic View or Long View but think Sea Cay or Orchid would be superior to any of them. Have you looked at One Love. Farther ocean view but looks nice a newly reconstucted.

We've stayed at Sea Cay twice...love the villa...the bedrooms are all kings with ensuite baths...all very nice...good amount of deck space, decent kitchen and family area...and the views...ugh...the views...I can't say enough about them or the villa. Its not overly fancy but our group doesn't need fancy...definately felt like home both times we were there...

thanks for the replies and pictures! I've taken Long View off the list since I like the views better from Sea Cay and Orchid. I have an email out to Caribbean Villa to get a price on Orchid; I have a price on Sea Cay already. I had read some posts on Sea Cay that it was in some disrepair/showing it's age and that it had gone through several rental agencies so if anyone has info on that it would be appreciated.

thanks again!

A few years ago Long View fit our budget. Tarpon were feeding in the pond down to the right. Parrots in the wire above the tennis courts squaked us awake every day. And a bonus is the trail, starting from the back of the garden, that leads down to Hart Bay. The house has a pool in the sun and outdoor shower. The steps up to the bedroom and kitchen were never a problem. It's a beautiful house for 1 or 2 couples - remote, with an awsome view, and 10 min from Cruz Bay.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

And Daffodil It Is

Post by toni »

Thanks again for the posts-after all the searching searching searching; the owner of Daffodil, which was our first choice, relented on not breaking the Thanksgiving week and we're now booked!

We had Daffodil on our list since 2006. Though this did help me find some wonderful other places that are now on my short list-since Daffodil was taken off of it, something had to take its place, right???

Airfare is purchased, villa deposit is mailed, life is getting better all the time!
