Looking for sympathy

Post by Knolmom »

11 years ago tonight at Peter Bay, DH and I were married. Had a great time this week reminiscing about the day, as we always do, and of course excited about planing our upcoming trip.
Looking forward to a quiet dinner here tonight and Doo-Wop concert to follow.

DH hospitalized in CCU tonight with kidney stones and possible cardiac event.
Happy Anniversary--NOT.

Definitely an anniverary to remember.

I hope your husband recovers quickly.

If nothing else this health scare will ensure you truly savour the moments and realize how blessed you both are to have one another.

I'm sorry but better to be safe than sorry. You want him around for your 12th, 13th, etc. anniversaries. Sometimes we don't get to celebrate our anniversary on the actual day due to my husband's schedule so celebrate when he's home and well.

Looking for sympathy

In hindsight, really a terrible title for the post. I was really feeling down when I came home from the hospital.
As of today they can find no "event', just a series of arrythmias and skipped beats throughout yesterday accompanied by low BP and dehydration. Still has kidney stone and infection but not so much pain, and no chest pain. Looking for additional causes. Still in the hospital, being monitored, pinched and poked. Thank God for our local PD, EMT's and Ambulance Corps. From the time he started to say he had chest pains and fall down to the floor, to the time they responded, got him oxygen and an IV, loaded and transported him and got him set up and monitored in the ER, not even 25 minutes had elapsed.
With my backgound, I had responded to this type of event for over 25 years, so even thought it was my own DH, I kept my cool. I am embarassed to say that after the ambulance left, instaed of quickly dressing and chasing the amulance at breakneck speed, I sat down on the couch and fell asleep, upright, for almost an hour. I guess I'm really past my prime.
Thanks for all of your kind words. The beauty of this forum is that it means so much when you can reach out for someone without ringing their phone or knocking on their door at midnight. Kindness and encouagement comes "right-back-at ya" 24X7.
