I'd agree with lovermont. Southeast corner of STJ is so arid in appearance, if it's not going to rain somewhere, it would be there...

We were there for 2 wks from May 2 to Mayl6. Horrible rain the whole second week. Thunder and lightening rain, Wouldn't want to be in pool or hot tub during. Even on the south east desert end. Couldn't snorkle most of those days even if there was no lightening because the water was so stirred up that it was like swimming through a blizzard. Did go to a couple of rock bays and they were better, but still cloudy without any sun. However. . . all that said, we still had a wonderful time. Watched the island turn green and bloom before our very eyes. Both trees and grass turned green. The lawn at caneel was brown when we got there, and green when we left. The ball feild in coral bay turned from brown to green. We could share in the excitement of the locals for the rain finally coming. It's hard to ruin STJ.

Make the best of it. My husband frets about the weather but he was pretty optimistic on our trip last July. What really ruins a trip is when someone with you is complaining about it and just won't let loose and have fun anyway. There are plenty of things you can do in the rain. We had a lot of bar time and ate out a lot but oh well. It was better than being at work in the rain!
I totally "get it".

Remember, the best beach after a hurricane is Pool Beach...
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
