First Time Stay in Coral Bay TR 4/24-5/2 Part 2

Post by cool breeze »

Well it is Wednesday now and time to try out Vies for the first time and Hansen Bay. I am still somewhat of a novice when it comes to snorkeling and still have yet to decide on what brand of underwater camera to purchase so unfortunately no underwater pictures  And it would figure I saw my first Eagleray which for those who are familiar with Hansen Bay was off to the right side where the rocks are exposed off the point. It scared the heck out of me as I could only think of Steve Irwin, "god rest his soul" but nonetheless it was beautiful.

Me on the left side enjoying the tropical beauty Hansen has to offer.

Now it was time for some conch fritters and Garlic Chicken from Vie's, excellent!

<a href="http://s986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... t=vies.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae34 ... y/vies.jpg" border="0" alt="Vie's"></a>

Decided on an early dinner so we headed back, Cindy enjoyed the pool while I enjoyed a couple of Coors on the deck enjoying the beautiful views before heading over to Miss Lucy's. Of course I had to be funny and cover her so she didn't get to much sun.

Unfortunately you can see what the drought has done to the landscape of the island, rain was much needed and while none of us want rain during our stay's the cisterns as well as the vegetation are "begging" for it. Let's hope at least the nights get rainy!

This was our first time to Miss Lucy's and to give a short story on how small the planet really is! Our flight down had us sitting across from another couple going down to visit their daughter who was the manager at Miss Lucy's, her name is Sophie and she is a sweetheart who graduated from the same high school as our son and daughter attended. I had a beer with her father while we watched Innervisions on Monday night, just thought that was something anyhow for those who visit Miss Lucy's what a beautiful site to enjoy fine food.

It's now thursday and we are off to Francis Bay for our first time mainly because Minde (Mindehankins) forum name always ranted about how nice it was, she wasn't kidding what a beautiful beach. We grabbed the last picnic table, set up our I-Pod docking station and turned on our 70's music and "chilled out", the music attracted the gentleman that was next to us from Wisconsin and we struck up a great conversation, he was there with his family and friends that had just enjoyed a wedding of one of his daughters. Minde you are correct it is our new favorite beach.

Forgot to add, being the novice snorkeler I finally broke down and bought a set-up from Crabby's, a real nice guy btw.

Just to change the perspective on this, DH likes to say that we do not live in a small world, we just live BIG lives. This is sure true when you get to visit the island of St John!

Loving your reports! Glad you enjoyed Francis! We would have had a blast, had I been able to coordinate a visit. We were at the same beaches, on different days.
Tell me about Miss Lucy's? That's a place we haven't stopped yet. Do they have very limited hours? We normally have lunch out and dinner in.
