Baltimore MD Light Rail Question

Post by Jan&MikeVa »

Do any of my forum friends know much about the system? Sister and I are heading to a U-2 concert in June and are considering staying near BWI Airport and taking light rail to the Ravens Stadium for the concert. She cannot do any type of subway due to her underground fears. Most hotels are booked up in the Inner Harbor area. Not crazy about driving in. Any thoughts or help would be mucho appreciated!!
Thank you in advance :):)

We take the light rail from the northern suburbs to downtown Baltimore 1x or 2x a year. I haven't ridden lower routes for about 15 years.

It is certainly easy and cheap. My mom and her friends do it when they go to baseball games. There is a stop right at the stadium. It runs frequently, depending on the time of day, every 9 minutes or so.

Make sure there is parking at whatever station you intend to use. On the northern line, some stations do not have parking.

Also, pay close attention to the schedules. On the line we use, it stops running rather early in the evening unless there is a special event.

We near Annapolis and only used the light rail once..driving in is very simple and lots of parking for events at both Camden Yards & Ravens stadium. If you choose the light rail, make sure there are plenty of cars going late enough. I would stay in town and/or drive in. Why not try the Harbor East part of town? It is a bit of a walk to the stadium, but we have done it many times. The 1840's Carrollton Inn has rooms available for under $200 with breakfast. Awesome place but you would have to share a king. There is also A new Fairfield Inn...nice part of town. PM me if you need more directions.
