Octipus in Europa Bay

Post by deejayjay »

Highlight of the day. We saw two Octipi in Europa Bay.

Image

They were chasing each other between two crevices, just below the water surface.

Then they noticed Deb.

The went to investigate her. It feaked her out. Will the sqeeze me? Well the ink me? Sting me?

Image

They circled Deb a few times

Still looking.

Going to the rock to hide

Dissappeared in the rock

Immediately after the octipi there appeared a 5 to 6 foot Barracuda about 10 foot away

Wow!!!

Awesome pics! Now I have to keep my wife off the forum. If she sees that she won't go in the water!

What the heck?!?!?
That is some crazy stuff. I am so happy you weren't too scared to take pictures. Not only have I never seen anything like this, I've never even imagined it. I can't tell you how many hours I've searched crevices looking for an octopus. Still no luck.
Thank you for sharing these pictures with us.
Most awesome.
