Villa or Cottage similar to Moon Cottage

Post by momto3boys »

We are thinking of visiting STJ for our 25th anniversary. Will be our first trip to the Islands. My DH found Moon Cottage and fell in love.

A little background on us. We have been married for 24 years. This trip would be for next Spring. We have 3 boys. 2 are adults and one is 7. Yes, we started all over! haha! Because of this, relaxation will be the key for us. This trip would be for only us.

We are looking for something just like Moon Cottage but maybe more affordable. We want something with a wonderful view, ultra private pool, off the beaten path maybe so that we will be more tempted to relax and not take in all of the sites. Would love an outdoor shower though that is not necessary. Oh and we love the intimate size as well.

If we can't find something as nice I think that we will book Moon Cottage. Just trying to save some money since the airfare is so pricey.

If anyone has stayed at Moon Cottage we would love to hear your feedback too.

Thanks for any help!

I don't know anything about Moon Cottage, but take a look at Anchorage Aweigh in Coral Bay.

We stayed here in 2009.

We were in the exact same boat and we went with Apito. Beautiful location. Private. Romantic. Reasonable rates. Check it out. I think you'll be happy. We booked it though Viva! and we were happy.

while not 'ultra' private the pool at bo atabey is probably private enough--it is n't way off the track, but it is really lovely and slightly more affordable than Moon cottage
< leaving on the 22nd of march...but too lame to figure out the ticker thing again!>

Check out Siempre Azul. Very private, nice hot tub, waterfront and the owner will give you a great deal.

John and I almost booked Moon Cottage a couple of years ago but decided against it for a couple of reasons. Two that I specifically recall is that the doors to the cottage don't have locks, and there is no oven. You have a lot of options at that price range.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

liamsaunt,

What did you end up going with? DH is looking at what I send but still talking Moon Cottage. Didn't realize that the doors do not have locks. Odd.

equinox,
I will let you all know. Not sure we are close yet.

Sun Moon & Stars is located just up the hill from Moon Cottage - http://www.vrbo.com/116923. Perfect for romantic getaways.

We are booked!! Thank you for all of your help. We went with MoonCottage. We found it before we were even looking at St. John so we feel it was meant to be. This would be our only opportunity to stay there since if we go back we will take the boys with us next time. We figured all of the other places we were looking at we could take them to. MoonCottage would be just for us.

He is wanting me to not be the go go go type of vactioner that I am. We think that that it will fit that better. If I am close to town I will want to go go go. Haha.

Thanks again. It really did help to make me more comfortable in his choice. Now I am excited!! Just one year to go. UGH!
