Splendore or Calypso Del Sol?
Splendore or Calypso Del Sol?
Have made a short list for next June. Anyone have any input on either villa? I know Splendore books about a year out so I need to be on top of things quickly. Opinions appreciated!

We stayed at Calypso Del Sol with two other couples in 2008. Loved it...whole house AC, nice views, lots of covered outdoor space. The pool is to die for. We never really used the screened in porch because it didn't seem to get much breeze and it was hot the week we were there. Driveway is definatley big enough for two cars. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat! PM me you email address if you'd like to see pics.
Chris, how many bedrooms do you need? The third bedroom at Splendore is not, in my opinion, a bedroom.
We stayed at Splendore a few years ago and LOVED it - Perfectly maintained. The pool deck gets full sun and there is lots of sun and shade. There are houses close by and we did hear neighbors once in a while. We liked the location and being able to take walks around the development. We would definately stay there again.

I think we've decided on Splendore. Been wanting this villa for the last couple trips. It just calls to us. Thanks!
It would be a perfect spot for a teen boy!chrisn wrote:Right! We actually need 2 1/2 LOL! Snorkel Boy (now 13) wants to sleep up there...he thinks it's cool...his own little space.PA Girl wrote:Chris, how many bedrooms do you need? The third bedroom at Splendore is not, in my opinion, a bedroom.

We stayed at CDS several years ago. It's quite nice, but I think the views would be much better at Splendore. We haven't stayed there but have stayed on Maria Bluff several times, and I've walked up past Splendore quite often. It gets great reviews, and unfortunately, is always booked by the time I want to reserve it. CDS has a good size pool and nice deck areas. It does have sunset views, but the the views from Maria Bluff can't be beat. Also, Calypso has only one interior access bedroom. The others are accessed from the lower deck. Good luck!

Hi! Happened to catch this thread. Thanks for your interest in Calypso. Am obviously not objective about the villa (smile) but would be glad to send additional photos or info, if helpful. I don't know Splendore -- but do know that Maria Bluff does have some great views. Still, you'd love Calypso -- it has some terrific features (screened porch, for example) and we'd be so glad to have you stay. Contact me at sfjaggar@aol.com if I can help. Sally

Thanks everyone! And thank you Sally! Calypso is usually always on my short list...so I am sure we will benefit from her charms in the future. I will keep your info handy!CalypsoDelSolOwner wrote:Hi! Yes...it's happened to me twice! Lisa at Vacation Vistas books a year in advance, and if you want Splendore, you usually have to book at that mark or shortly thereafter to get the dates you want. We go in June which puts another kink into it...I believe the owners like to visit in June too...but I hear they are flexible if someone wants a week.BuffaloGal wrote:is always booked by the time I want to reserve it.
FWIW, The view from Gifft Hill is my FAVE villa view on island. BREATHTAKING!
