I bought my ticket to California on this site and it was fine. I got really crappy seats (2 of the legs were next to the toilet..Peeew
)But I saved a bundle. We booked last years flight to STJ with them as well and did just fine. Even had decent seats. This year we did better dealing directly with the airline.

I've never used them but their site and price kept popping up on a recent trip I was researching on kayak.com. Their price appears very low because it does not include certain airline fees (you don't see the actual total until the final booking page). The total was almost always within $10 of Priceline, and often on the higher side. They do have promo codes which will rebate $10 or $15 of their booking fee to you. But traveling with kids I would not use them to save a few bucks especially if you can't see your seats.
We booked on Priceline (which also comes up when you do a Kayak search) and got to choose our seats.
