I've seen some posts on good places for hair and makeup services on the island but they're kinda older...

I haven't been there personally but they look like they have their act together.
One bit of advice though regarding hair and makeup on island: Conditions on STJ are HOT and HUMID. Neither of these factors are kind to hair and makeup.
So IMHO it's always best to stick to something more natural because mother nature is going to have her way no matter what! Nothing is less attractive than make-up sliding off your face and that carefully coiffed up-do frizzing out of its coils. Just keep that in mind when finalizing your look for the big day.
