Cost of Jeep rental in season vrs. off season??

Post by fmzip »

Just wondering, does the cost of renting a Jeep also decline as the off-season villa rates do?

Any discount for getting a jeep for two weeks at a time, versus one? We are thinking of going in April next year to take advantage of the off season rates.

Who has the best deal for Jeep rentals on St Thomas/St John? I'd rather rent in St Thomas for convenience.

Yes, on St. John my experience is that low season rates for cars are around $5-$15 less per day than in high season. Not sure about St. Thomas. I have seen rental agencies do extra discounts (10-15% off total) for off-season rentals. They may do it for longer rentals as well. The worst they can say is no, just ask politely if you receive any additional discount for a two week rental versus one.

Here's an example of in-season and off-season pricing from Bougainvillea. I have asked for discounts for more than one week, but have not received them. My next rental is straddling in and out of season, and they're charging me a week at each rate. That is my experience.

Yes, they have high/low season rates just like the villas! We always ask for a discount for a 2 week rental or even when renting 3-4 Jeeps at a time. I have never been turned down!!
