Non-STJ (gasp!) resort family vacation recommendations?

Post by lark22 »

Hi All!

My brother-in-law & family want to go away for April vacation. They're sadly not into the whole villa & driving thing, so STJ is out, sadly. :( Their daughters are 8 & 4.

Does anyone have good recommendations for a Caribbean resort that's safe, family-friendly, and fairly easy to get to from the East Coast US (i.e. direct flights from Boston if possible)?

Thanks so much!

Jet Blue goes there now from Boston and also from JFK as of last month.

Hi there! We are from Boston as well....we had a GREAT family resort vacation at ATlantis in the Bahamas. It can cost an arm and a leg ...but there is a little hidden gem called the Comfort Suites which is directly next to ATlantis and they have privileges at ATLANTIS! rooms are half the price!...kids had a blast.

Ill second the Atlantis, Ive never stayed at comfort suites but I have stayed at the Harborside at Atlantis (full disclosure - im an owner), you can find some decent deals on rentals online, my kids 10 and 5 LOVE it! they have opted to to Atlantis rather than Disney on several occasion...

Beaches on Provo certainly covers all three needs. We like Provo. It isn't STJ but it sure is easy to reach.

Another vote for Atlantis. The marine life is amazing, and even the adult kids will love the all the water slides and adventures. Eating is expensive, but there are great restaurants on site.
