My second trip to St. John we stayed at a Villa named Glenmar that we arranged through St. John Properties. It was on Gift Hill and we loved it! The location is great! Once on Centerline Road you could head towards Cruz Bay or go the other way towards Coral Bay. The view was beautiful! I do remember there were two ways to get to the villa...one way was to go past the Westin and up a very steep hill that was getting paved the last time I was there. That was about nine months ago. But for us it was easier and closer to just to to Centerline Road. :)

I love Gifft hill. so much I lived there for part of my time on island. Yes, coming from South Shore the switchbacks can be tricky. Go Centerline if you like.
Did you look at the Gifft Hill Villa from the Schnells. We stayed there and the master is above the 2 smaller so not sure if that is alright. Good luck!

ff,

while we really like upper rockridge, maria bluff and casa bueno on mt bordeaux, c9 on gifft hill must be our favorite since stayed there 4 times. couple minutes drive time to west end north shore beaches as others i mentioned but much shorter via centerline to cinnamon, maho, francis and every thing east of bordeaux overlook, 60% of island. drive fron cruz bay at night after dinner is nono for us but with the sunset, & stt lighting views, why go to town.

c9 has wide open patio with everything but loft in great room same level & facing to the horizon. there's a sleeping alcove with trundle bed in far corner of great room and a loft with several beds that has a tough stair but unlike sister villas palm, seawatch, plumeria and coconuts there is a great split system ac that cools the loft and great room. also a nice gazebo on deck just outside kitchen for daytime shade and evening dining. she is an older villa but always clean and as comfortable ofr island time as an old slipper. manager extraordinaire marcy (appel) boyd is no longer with c9 but the onwers of the villas, allen and linda are very attentive and i believe will be easy to work with.

Thanks All & espeically you Papa. I think you are very close to sealing this deal for me. Sounds like a good location, they house is all a/c - the other house I am looking at on Bordeaux is not a/c'd at all. Makes me REALLY nervous for late june/july trip!

Yay! I feel better.

ff, read my post & realized i dropped "longer" after "couple of minutes" in reference to drive to west end north shore beaches. when you and friends who travel with you have been married 40 plus yrs, bedrooms not big deal except bed and linens which were fine. master br reasonably large with good bath with double vanity and outdoor shower but second bdroom smaller with small bath with small "garden shower" as i recall.

bedrooms ac also quiet split system. enough, guess i miss her. but will close with fact that only have 2 pics displayed in our home from 13 stj trips. both are sunsets from c9 with the world's skinnest palm tree in middle!
