Pink Horses Pictures

Post by SOonthebeach »

I posted a review of Pink Horses on the user review page, but the pictures would not show up. So at the risk of being redundant, below is my review, with pics. This house was great!

We stayed here Feb 23 - March 2, 2011. What a fantastic villa! Pink Horses is in Coral Bay, just above the Island Blues/Coccoloba area. It has gorgeous 180 degree sweeping views of Coral Bay, the Sir Francis Drake Channel and down island. It is pretty easy to get to with only a few patches of unpaved road. It sits behind a gate with 2-3 other houses. It's pretty close to the other houses, and you can see each other's decks, but that was not a problem for us. In the hillside photo below, we're tucked in to the cluster of houses- 2 below the one with the blue roof.

It is a 2 bedroom/2 bath (1 up, 1 down) and is decorated beautifully. Both bedrooms have AC. One bath (the upper) has an outdoor shower. The lower bath is not connected to the bedroom, but it just outside of it. It has a nice deck downstairs and pool, and a great outdoor kitchen. The grill was out of order when we were there, but the managers (Ernie and Nancy- very nice) brought us their own grill to use. The pool was a little chilly, but it was February, and we have found most villa pools to be a little chilly at that time of year. It was really breezy at the house almost all the time, which we loved. Absolutely zero bugs and we never needed the AC. We kept all the doors open whenever we were there- every door had a screen to keep out bugs (but there were none). Both bedrooms had a beautiful view out to the water from the bed, and we kept the bedroom doors open all night to enjoy the breeze.

The wireless internet worked flawlessly (amazing) and they had a great collection of CDs, books and movies and an iPod dock. The TV was great- the one downside is that it did not get the basic channels (ABC, NBC, etc).

The kitchen is really well stocked to cook anything, there are plenty of towels and bedding, including beach towels, and they have great beach chairs and coolers to use (photos of us using the beach chairs below- they were great). The location is very convenient to the dumpster- we had to pass it to head towards the north shore- so trash runs were easy. Smelly, but easy ;-)

We really enjoyed this house. The views were phenomenal (especially at sunrise), the decor is really well done, the management was wonderful, and we even made friends with a few sugar birds who came to visit often. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone wanting to stay in the Coral Bay area. PM me with any other questions.

Thanks for the great review and pictures. We often search for 2 bedroom places so we will definitely keep this one in mind.

Hey Bert- those very cool chairs were at the villa. I wrote down the name, though. They are RIO Gear backpack beach chairs. Here's a link to one I found on the internet:

I Googled them and they have some with coolers, too! But I'm not sure how much those weigh, and they are more expensive. The ones we used were REALLY light and very easy to throw on our backs. They had a pouch in the back to throw your beach towel in. I loved them.

If anyone has more questions on the villa, send me a PM- I am happy to answer.

Wonderful SOTB! It is a perfect 2-bedroom villa above Coral Bay... but I remember hurricane screens and Omar
