Could use some help on finding a place to stay
I think I want to stay at Grande Bay. I have not been successful in finding a private villa in our price range and we do like being closer to Cruz Bay. We need a 1 bedroom for undisclosed dates, Tracy's unit is already booked and a few others that I have found are as well.
Does anyone have a recommendation for an affordable unit at Grande Bay? or a villa under $2k a week in the off season.
I know it is hard without exact dates, but I am not ready to advertise when we are travelling.

Pretty limited availability and a little more than what you want to pay (other than that it's perfect
).
We stayed here recently and were very happy with it.

Large outdoor area with nice views. Didn't use the kitchen except to make coffee. We were told that grills were not allowed anymore on front decks if that is important to you.
Happy to answer any questions.

< leaving on the 22nd of march...but too lame to figure out the ticker thing again!>
X,
We stayed her for almost two weeks last year (and another forumite has but I can't remember who it was).
It's right as you go up Jacob's Ladder - literally, as you drive up, you make a right into a dirt driveway.

It's definitely an older place and it reminded me a bit of Greece as it's all masonry construction. There is a common pool but we never used it and when we were there, the other unit wasn't rented.
PM or let me know if you have any questions if you consider it - the price is great!
Good luck!

Try this one.... the owner has others but we stayed in this one.....

With any of the VRBO -- if they have availability, email and ask them what the "best" rate would be for your dates!

If you haven't already found a place to stay near Cruz Bay, you might consider Battery Hill. It has eight 2BR units and one efficiency, all with harbor views.
We stayed there in January and really liked it.
If you book through VRBO, you can probably get a better rate than booking through the Battery Hill site.
I can give you more details if needed.

Augie and I stayed at Battery Hill for a couple days at the beginning of our trip in Oct. It was so convenient to town. We woke up to beautiful sunrises. We walked down the hill for a trips into town. Pool was shared but we never saw anyone! Hope you have a great trip and if you are there when we are- we'd love to meet you!!

If you don't mind a place that is a little rough around the edges we stayed at Casa Blanca in Frank Bay a few years ago.
It rents through Caribe Havens:
http://www.caribehavens.com/casablanca.htm
The cabinets are warn, and it's a little outdated, but it has a/c in the bedroom and a private pool. There is also a genip tree that hangs over the deck for reasy pickins if you're there at the right time of year.
We walked ZoZo's from Casa Blanca and further into town a couple times.
I wish they'd fix it up a little bit because it would be really great. There aren't too many 1 bedroom places with their own pools.
Another 1 bedroom option with a pool (but not walking distance to town) is Blue Aweigh...we stayed there a few years ago when it was almost brand new:

Blue Aweigh has everything you could really need but there isn't a ton of privacy because it's adjacent to the owners' house.
One other option that I can't vouch for is Arcadia, it's a couple years old and I've had it on my list since it came on the market but we've never stayed there:
