One can be amazed by how many residents have never ventured to the East End, including locally born Saint Thomians. It is a bit out in nowhere, yet you'd think folks who have lived there 20 years or longer would check it out.

A few years ago before the Coral Bay substation, police never came out there; a small lawless community.

Actually, my impression was that it seemed to police itself pretty well. If one was bothersome they got "thrown off the island." They weren't literally thrown off, but they got no service at the bar, market, etc.and no jobs for them either. Nobody would deal with them in any way, so they had no choice but to leave. If someone got really out of hand there was, as a last resort, more of a frontier style of justice. As it got more populated, and more modern, new problems came crime-wise.Modern problems brought modern responses, thus the police substation. It still is a much slower world when compared to Cruz Bay.

I tried to be a Coral Bay person. But oh, how I missed those sunsets. It's nice to know for sure.

We are Coral Bay people and can't imagine staying anywhere else.

But, we fully understand others being Cruz Bay people.

It takes all of us to make up the world, right?

Go with what makes You feel good. :D

Like someone else said, I think we're "bi".

We loved staying in Coral Bay, but had to spend a few nights in Cruz Bay to get a fix.

Worked so well we're doing the same split this year (week in Coral/3 nights Cruz).

As long as you're happy, be as you are

We too are Cruz Bay all the way as far as where we stay. BUT, we love Coral Bay too and always end up there, the East End, and sometimes Salt Pond during our trip and often lunch there between beaches. We like being in Cruz Bay for our evenings. Certainly made it easier to meet you guys :) Thank goodness we don't all like to stay on the same part of the island.
Going "home" again October 26th!
