My St. John Transportation Curse Continues

Post by pswlrw »

Some of you may have read my little story about the limo driving by us last year, about Budget giving us a smaller car than we had reserved and about the jeep that tried to kill us on Bordeaux hill. Well, this year I reserved 2 SUV's through Avis at the airport for my group of 10. I called today, just to confirm, and they told me that they cancelled one of them because they assumed it was a double booking  And of course, being Carnival on ST Thomas, they have no cars available  A quick call to all other STT car rental places that allow cars on STJ yields nothing. I have called the manager at Avis on St. Thomas, who said she will look into and call me be back, and Laura at Destination St. John is frantically searching for a local rental for me. If we have no luck, those of you on island starting Saturday will defiinately be able to recognize my group - we'll be the ones with people strapped to the roof of our ONE Chevy Blazer. :o

I kept imagining Imogene Coca in the chair on top of the car in the Chevy Chase movie. Thanks for the laugh and glad that it all worked out for you.

Not to worry, Paula!

We would have thrown a couple of you in the back seat of our Jeep Wrangler!

So happy that all worked out okay!!

Thanks everyone - I'm just glad I called ahead. Imagine if I had just shown up at the airport and had no car

Just one full day left!! Sue and Bug - thanks for the offer of the lift. See you both real soon.
