Whole-grain breads & pastas? Brown rice?

Post by lpowmacback »

Does anyone here know what restaurants offer whole grain breads and pastas; brown rice? While husband & I, being healthfoodies don't usually have a hard time on St. John because there's always plenty of fish, salads & fruit to keep us quite happy, it would be nice to be able to get those whole-grain foods we love so much.

Does Baked in the Sun have some good whole grain breads? I have heard great things about their take out!

Thanks!!
Peace,

Lisa

Hi Lisa, have you looked at the menu for satyamuna? Here is a link: http://www.satyamuna.com/ I have not eaten there yet, but it's on the list for next trip (30 days from today, whoo-hoo!).

Another place that I want to try (assuming it is still there!) is a little truck at the Coral Bay intersection called Fire Foods. They specialize in healthy foods, juices, mostly veggie stuff. Has anyone been there recently?

I remember seeing multigrain breads at starfish.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

I have been to Satyamuna and I thought it was very good (and healthy!) I especially enjoyed the falafel - homemade and great tahini sauce. It's a great place to grab some lunch when shopping at Starfish and take home with you. I want to try Fire Foods, too. It sounds delish and will be on my list for next time.

As far as store-bought items, we like brown rice, whole wheat as well and haven't found it yet. But, I think if we ask enough, Starfish would carry it. I asked last time I was there, so maybe next time!
