MiFi on STJ

We weren't impressed with the speed of the WiFi Internet connection at our recent STJ accommodations, and are thinking of bringing a mobile hotspot with us next time.

I guess we'd need either the AT&T or Sprint MiFi unit on STJ, right?

Has anybody had experience with MiFi on STJ?

PS: We're Verizon cell phone customers stateside, but we picked up a GoPhone from AT&T for our last trip to the USVI. Worked great.

Using the website speedtest.net, I found AT&T speed to be around 1MB/s. My father has used Surf VI (radio signal from Bordeaux) and a new Wifi Max alternative. Neither has offered consistent speeds above 1MB/s. We are on the East End, so perhaps Cruz Bay has better alternatives e.g. DSL.
