Baggage question?

Post by Hawaii »

Hi- Ok - do not make fun of me but this will be our first trip to STJ. We are still trying to figure out if we can just do carryon but if we have one bag (flying Continental)the website says it charges $25.00 is that roundtrip or one way? We usually have flown Southwest so we are new to this. Thanks. If it is one way we will definitely try to do the carryon only and ship a box down.

To reduce sticker shock as much as possible, they always quote the charges for one way. Bummer, huh?

Wow - I think I can stuff snorkel gear, snacks, clothes and cameras in our carryon with all of us bringing backpacks for our personal item. Will ship a box to Connections with all the other stuff we need. How much does it cost to ship to connections?

Shipping depends on the size of the box. ALWAYS ship Priority mail and use all capital letters on the mailing label.

Hawaii,
Your best bet is to swing by your local USPS and get some flat rate boxes.

Those will cost you about $15 to ship to Connections. Call Connections to find out how much they'll charge to hold them, or contact your villa agency to see if they'll hold boxes for you. Allow about a week to 10 days; although many of us have had much better shipping time results lately using these fixed rate boxes, and preparing labels exactly as the PO likes. (I myself use the online labeling, because the USPS site converts the address to their preferred look, and also puts a barcode on your label.)

Thanks everyone - I have about 4 1/2 months to figure out how to fit everything for a family of four. Should be interesting. Thanks again.
