STT to car barge

Before it gets too late for me to book a car on STJ, just wanted some re-assurnace that the drive from the airport to the car barge dock is a simple one and that chances of us getting lost are slim! We are renting from Discount so I assume they will give us a map/directions? And is the signage good?

Oh and we will probably meet our villa rep at Starfish market...which I know how to get to from the people ferry dock...does the car barge drop off relatively close?

We rented from Discount a few weeks ago and did the barge. They are wonderful people and gave us very good directions to Red Hook, along with some advice on cheap(er) groceries along the way. Don't sweat it, it was easy to get there.

EDIT: The barge drops off near the tennis courts (by the water tower). Super close to Starfish.

This is a previous thread with great directions from Pia; the car barge dock is even closer to Starfish than the people dock.

Let me put it this way: The first tme I was ever in the VIs (or driving on the left) I drove our rental from the airport to Red Hook. Its not too complicated. Just drive through C.A. and keep going. A simple road map will get you there.

lprof, Thank you for posting the link to Pia's directions. I have a co worker that is heading down in March and they are renting a car in STT. I feel much better about my recommendation to do that now that the directions are so clear!!!

Just noticed that my link to Pia's directions was from 2007... I don't know if there may have been route changes or improvements since then. It sounds like good directions are offered by the "Discount" rental agency.
